Not much else new to write about since I'm actually getting out two blogs this week......so I'll be sharing my list of Tennessee sayings that annoy me!

1. "Buggy" instead of "shopping cart"
After growing up in Arthur, home to many Amish families, imagine my confusion when first moving here! Upon arriving at Wal-mart I am asked if I need a buggy. Hmm....I'm wearing pants and make-up so I'm thinking I don't need the horse-drawn transportation. But they mean a "cart". Still confuses me

2. "whaddya lack" instead of "what else do you need"
With the accent it actually sounds like "what do you like". Well, I like lots of things! Led to some very confusing conversations.

3. "i'm fixin' to" instead of "i'm getting ready to"
This I hear several times daily....this phrase isn't actually that bad, just the extreme overuse of it sends me over the edge. "It's fixin' to rain", "I'm fixin' to leave", "He's fixin' to have a fit". The only time I feel the word "fixin" is appropriate is when it is followed by the word "dinner".

4. "a coon's age" instead of "a long time"
Don't ask, I don't even know what to do with that one.

...and finally, my favorite.......

5. "look at tv" instead of "watch tv"
Congrats, you've just made watching tv sound even more sedentary. At least using the word "watching" makes the experience sound somewhat interactive.

That's it! Peyton is sleeping very well in his own bed so I'm fixin' to go look at some tv. Hope you are all having a great night! Take care and God bless!

That is too funny!!! Joe works with a guy from Kentucky, and instead of saying that he taught somebody something, 'he learned them something!' Crazy!!

Hope your doing well!! Have a good weekend!!

I figured you'd awready learnt them thar things by now:) Do you know they say learnt in England? It always sounds odd coming from upper crust British with that accent.
Glad to "look at" your blog. Hope Peyton gets those teeth in with very little pain from now on. Hugs to you all.

Hi, Bobbie. I haven't looked at blogs since the first of the week, so I missed seeing your new ones! I'm glad Peyton is happy being back in his old daycare. Are your sinuses better?
