Check me out, another post in little over a week! Peyton had his nine month appointment today with his new doctor. I love her! She actually listened to my concerns, was more personable, let me hold Peyton while she checked him over, and stayed to chat awhile even though she was busy. FINALLY I have a doctor who is open to the possibility that he has allergies and not a cold everyday of his life. Not that I want him to have them, or that there is much to be done considering his age. But I don't like genuine concerns written off as they were with our last doctor.

She said for now to continue giving him benedryl when he needs it, and when he's a year old, if we need to, there is a once-a-day allergy medication he can take. I'm torn over this because I do NOT want him to have to be medicated everyday, I also don't want him to endure allergy testing this young or be miserable everyday because he's so congested. So I'll just pray and maybe he'll get over it some before any of that is necessary.

Other than that we haven't been up to a whole lot. We went out to Julie and Brian's for awhile on Saturday and Peyton did really well. He hammed it up for everyone and had a great time. Its nice to cook out and all but I am sooooo ready for fall. Not so much a summer person. I'm glow-in-the-dark white and I don't like bugs or humidity. Ready for the cold! Well, gonna watch some tv before bed. Nighty-night!

They can't really reliably test little kids for allergies. They either react to everything or nothing. They may have you try to remove him from things that might be culprits. Has he always been on the same formula? Have you tried washing his clothes in "free" soaps with no fabric softener? Has he ever been away from animals and clothes with animal on them? Do you wear perfume or Roy aftershave all the time? What about baby powder? I'm allergic to talck sp?, which is the base of most powders, adult or baby. It's hard to try some of that, but sometimes it's just something simple. Good luck!

Jesse had those symptoms as a baby, too, but he mostly outgrew it. Emily didn't as much, so I hope she doesn't grow into it as she gets older like I did. Zack has also had some problems and I have given him the liquid claritin (the generic) just as needed. He doesn't have to take it every day, just sometimes. I have to take something for my allergies/sinus pretty much every day. Stinks! Good to see your blogs. Maybe I'll get back to mine one of these days!

Actually Jesse does still have some problems with drainage and upset stomach from it, but I think some of that could be from cigs sometimes. He takes claritin occasionally, but problem needs it more often. I know I hurt after being around a lot of smoke!

I like spring and fall best. Last year's fall was just great, weather wise. Hope this fall is the same. Looking forward to seeing you this weekend. So glad you have such a caring doctor!

Hope you can find what's causing his congestion and that it'll be a simple thing to eliminate. :)

I love fall, too! I can't wait for the pretty leaves and pumpkins everywhere.
