Last Blog (sniff!!!)

Hello! Well, we're shutting down our cable at some point today so I wanted to send out one last blog. Had a great time with my family yesterday! I was able to visit with Mom, Dad and Katie during the day. Grandma and Grandpa, Brenda, and Diane and the kids came by too and we had a good time seeing them :)
When Shawn came home from work we went to see his new house after eating dinner. I was very happy! It needs some work but has a lot of space and a HUGE yard! I'm so happy for them and I pray everything goes okay for them while they're fixing it up.
Tonight my friends are having "girls night" for me! We're going to eat pizza, watch "Coyote Ugly", and then go out. The rest of the week will be spent tying up loose ends and cleaning until MOVING DAY on Saturday!
I just want to say that I will miss you all very much! I'll try to resume bloggin asap, but since we're going to have.....gulp......dial-up it may be awhile since the connection is so slow and we're sharing with others :) I've enjoyed so much reading everyone else's blogs and I can't wait to start up again, it makes me feel like I know what's going on with everyone so much more! Take care everyone and God bless you!!!

Last week!

Yep, a week from today I'll still be trying to unpack in Tennessee ;) Can't believe it, the time is going by so quickly!

We've had a nice weekend. Jeremy and Rachel and the kids came over for some taco salad (Grandma's recipe, don't know if mine turned out as well as hers usually does but we ate it anyway!). Rachel brought over some pickle roll-ups, potato salad and banana/nilla wafer pudding. We had a good time with them, they were heading to Arthur to visit with Mom and Dad after they left!

I was a little bummed yesterday because I knew my family was getting together today for dinner and to visit and I was missing everyone. So, Roy and I are going down on Tuesday! He wants to visit with his cousin who lives nearby so he's going to drop me off at Mom and Dad's. Mom doesn't have class that day so we'll get to visit and I'll get to visit with Dad when he gets up too! I also want to stop by Grandma and Grandpa's and Diane's to see everyone before the "move". AND I'll get to see my brother and his lovely wife too!

Speaking of Shawn, he and Katie got approved for a house today!!! It was being auctioned off and they were able to get it! Its a fixer-upper, but they'll be able to, over time, fix it exactly how they want it. Apparantly there's a huge yard, garage, and an older stable. I'm so excited for them! Hopefully he'll be able to take me out so I can see it on Tuesday!

Packing is pretty much finished. We still have a lot that we're still using so can't pack yet, but everything else seems to be a go! Roy called Julie today and they were getting our room cleared out. Everything is in place next weekend and thanks to my wonderful family we should have plenty of room for all of our stuff. I'm excited for them to see where we'll be at and to spend the weekend with them!

This weekend should be pretty uneventful. Monday is Roy's last day of work (and Jeremy will be there too!), Tuesday we're going to Arthur and Wednesday my friends are planning "girls night" for me. Other than that, we'll be finally taking a rest from the packing extravaganza!

Well, I'm starving so I'm going to hunt down something to eat! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Take care and God bless!!!

Booked for Vegas!!! Woo hoo!!! I was really worried because 1. I don't have the money to put down on it right now and 2. Our friend Pam who was supposed to go backed out, so we're booking for 3 people versus 4 which jacks up the price. Thankfully, I have fabulous friends and Annie lent me part of the money for booking and I put down what I could (we have the money, but until we know what we're getting into in Tennessee we need to hang on to it). Also, the prices dropped significantly the other day! A difference of almost a hundred dollars! So, we met at Annie's and got booked! So excited! We're staying at the Monte Carlo ( www.montecarlo.com ) and it looks gorgeous!

That has been my excitement for the week :) We're still packing away! Made plans with Jeremy and Rachel to do something this weekend. We're very excited to see Mom and Dad next weekend on "moving day!".

Well, this'll be a short one, Roy's wanting me to help with something. I may write more later. Hope everyone's having a great day! Take care and God bless!!!

Windy day!

'Ello all!!! Well, we got a little rain, not nearly as much as I was hoping for though :( Very windy outside today, even Tatum didn't like it!

Not a whole lot has been happening here lately except for packing and cleaning. We stopped by wal-mart last night and got some more boxes. We so far have the following rooms finished: spare bedroom, small bathroom, most of the weight room, walk-in closet in our bedroom, and most of our bathroom except for things we absolutely need in the next week. All of our boxes are piled in our bedroom and the kitchen! Even though we're so close to moving it still doesn't seem real yet :)

I'm trying out a beef stroganoff crock-pot dinner tonight. Jeremy gets them a lot and he said they're pretty good! Speaking of Jeremy, his son (my nephew!!!) has been talking to me on the phone like crazy lately!!! Its so cute :) The first time he did it I could've sworn it was his older sister saying "hello" because it was so clear. I love it when littles start talking and you can hear what their voices are going to sound like. Adorable!!!

This night shift is making me crazy!!! I've been staying up until seven in the morning and sleeping till around three. I want to go out and visit with some people this week since I'm running out of time, but this schedule leaves me feeling like a zombie! Oh well, not too much longer :)

Well, gonna go stir dinner and figure out what to pack next! I hope everyone's having a great week! Take care and God bless!!!

15 days!!!

I just took Tatum out and I'm sticky from the humidity!!! Gross!!! Well, my boys are at work and I just finished packing up a few boxes. Slowly getting stuff done, sure glad we have a lot of time to pack 'cause it takes forever!

Thank the Lord for air conditioning!!! I can't BELIEVE how hot it has been!!! The last couple of days have been pretty uneventful. My friend Annie made it through her surgery just fine today. Just really sore but she has a lot of time to recover. We've decided for the wedding to stay at the Monte Carlo instead of the MGM. The MGM has already jumped in price and the Monte Carlo is really nice and still very close to the MGM for the chapel. I need to talk to the girls about booking because I'm going to have to wait awhile before I can do it. I have the money, but I need to wait until we get down to Tennessee and see what the situation is before I let go of it, don't want to be completely broke!

Tatum was chasing a bug in the living room today, it was so cute! She pounces around it, swatting with her paws and barking at it. She'll have fun when we move, lots of kiddos to play with! Speaking of moving (AGAIN!!! Anyone sick of hearing me talk about it yet ;) I'm going to try very hard not to get the thick Tennessee accent. I've decided that if it starts up (and my friends promised to alert me) I'll pick a new one to go with. Maybe Brittish! Not that there's anything wrong with the accent, just ain't digging it on me.

Well, its almost three and I'm finally getting loopy, maybe this night schedule is starting to wear off. I hope everyone has a great Friday, take care and God bless!

Well, my boys are hard at work tonight :-) When Roy gave his notice Jeremy mentioned that he'd be interested in the job, he's been interviewed and hired and now he and Roy are training this week! I'm very excited for him and I hope he likes it!!! Their first night was yesterday and seems like it went pretty well!

Packing, packing, packing! I'm not going crazy with it but I am trying to get at least a cabinet or so packed everyday. Packed a whole cabinet full of our fiestaware tonight, I didn't have anything else to wrap the dishes in so I used towels and washcloths (killing two birds with one stone!).

Tatum is very wide awake for it being two in the morning! Can't wait to get her in the country where she can just lay in the sun, play, and bark her head off all day :-) Here, she disturbes the neighbors and kids are constantly coming over to play with her. I don't mind, but I'm afraid they'll unhook her if we're not out there.

I haven't heard otherwise so I'm assuming Katie and Shawn made it home safely! I talked to Mom this afternoon, Shawn was driving to Chicago with her step-father so he could surprise her at the airport! I can't wait to hear about her trip!

Well, I'm going to put in a movie and veg (my blogs are much less interesting since I've been unemployed! Ha!!!). Hope everyone's having a great night! Take care and God bless!!!

19 DAYS AND COUNTING

Official countdown is on baby!!!!!!! Unproductive day so far though :-) Helped Roy last night so I slept in until 2 (didn't go to bed until almost 7!). I've just been puttering around straightening things up. I wrote a letter back to one of my Healthy Start girls (sweetheart, still sends me letters and pictures of her baby!), other than that I've been a couch potato!

We got a few things packed yesterday. Roy cleaned out our smaller bathroom and got everything packed. I packed some pictures and decorations from the living room. I need to call Pam because I have a few things one of her clients (that used to be mine!) could use. She just moved and has next to nothing in the way of furniture.

Talked to Mom for awhile yesterday, sounds like Katie is having fun in Europe although she's pretty homesick. I believe she was in Amsterdam (sp?) yesterday. They are on a tour that goes through several countries in the area. So far, that I can remember, she's been to France, Switzerland, and possibly Germany. I think she's coming back tomorrow, I know Shawn's anxious for her to return!!!

Well, time to return a couple emails and find something productive to do (actually, there's plenty to do, the trick will be MAKING myself do something productive ;) I hope everyone survived their Mondays!!! Take care and God bless!

Thank you to everyone for the supportive comments and prayers regarding our move :-) We're very excited. Haven't gotten around to packing yet today, but we've still got a few weeks. Went around and collected some boxes yesterday. Thankfully, I've been blessed with such a wonderful family, Mom and Dad offered to help us move down!!! I've very excited, especially since they'll get to see where we'll be at and get to see the land we're hopefully going to get!!! I'm excited also because I'll get to spend some time with them before "the move!".
Kristi-I still need to get you your West Wings back!!!! I'll call you sometime this week and drop them off :)
Can't believe how humid it is today! Lots of neighborhood kids out playing, Tatum likes to watch when we have her outside. I hope it rains so it'll cool off some.
Well, gotta finish up dinner and start watching "8 Mile"! I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturdays!!! Take care and God bless!!!

I'm leaving on a jet plane!!!!!

Well, actually a u-haul and a taurus........whateva!!!!! Yes, after many many MANY conversations, planning, praying, and stressing, Roy and I have decided that we are moving to Tennesse as of June 24th!!!!!! Yes, that is June of THIS year which means we are moving in less than a month!

I know this sounds sudden and irrational, but we have looked at our financial situation. Basically, we can afford to go right now with the money we've saved and have our bills paid until August. If we wait until I get a job and try to save after, it will be months before we'll be able to go. We've spoken with the trailer park and have everything cleared up with them, Roy has put in his notice at work, we've contacted gas and electric people to let them know when we'll be shutting down, and Julie and Brian are in the process of clearing out our room as of this week! Gotta lot of packing to do, but since I'm not working right now I have tons of time to get that ready. Very exciting!!!!

That has pretty much been our past few days. We feel at ease with our decision and just need to prepare for the move! Been cloudy today but it hasn't really rained! Needs to though, we keep getting teased with the possibility, then it rains for a few minutes and clears up! Well, gotta go clean up the kitchen! I hope everyone had a great Thursday! Take care and God bless!!!
