Very hard getting up to go to work today after not leaving the house since Friday! Not fun :( But, made it through and now there's only four long days left! Yesterday was really good, hung out watching movies all day. Roy ran and got us some KFC for lunch, that was the only venture outside the house!
Speaking of my baby, he had an interesting morning today. He went to one of the restaurants he cleans in the morning and it had been broken into! The alarm was acting weird when he got there so he looked around, turns out the guys had busted through the wall into the walk-in cooler and crawled through a hole they made. The office door was open and torn apart, they weren't able to get into the safe though so it appears nothing was taken. Roy called the police and gave a statement. By then some of the other workers had arrived. Craziness!
My day at work was much less exciting. Had an IFSP meeting this morning and then got some calls and paperwork done. Tatum was rooting around the bed while I was working. I called her out and I kept hearing this thumping sound. She got stuck under there and was freaking out! It was kinda funny, but I'm glad she's never roaming around the house without us here 'cause she would break her back getting out rather than remain confined. Well, my microwave dinner (see how much I cook!) is ready so I'll sign off. Take care!

Lazy day! Mom and Dad were going to come up and visit but its pretty snowy down there so they didn't want to chance it. Jeremy and Rachel were supposed to come over too but Mom said Rachel wasn't feeling well (get better Rachel!!!). SO, Roy and I have been super lazy! We had planned to go out and get a lot of errands done.....eh! Its snowing so we decided just to stay in and watch movies. I made lasagna and we've been eating on it all day :)

Obviously, not a lot to write about since I haven't left my jammies, much less the house all day! Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

BRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

'ello! Very chilly out. It was depressing watching the news at 6:30 this morning and hearing them say that it was going to be the warmest part of the day! At least a lot of our snow melted away! Its been a busy couple of days but my week should be slowing down now. Mom and Dad are going to come up to visit on Saturday. They're getting ready to go on vacation to Arizona (jealous!!!) so we're glad we get to see them before they go. Kelly is having a party tomorrow night for some Swedish lotion/make-up stuff so I'll go to that. Still owe her from my Partylite fiasco :)
My Guns & Roses charm needs to get here!!! Roy ordered it for me off of e-bay. That will be my excitement for the week ;) Can't think of anything else to write about now so I'll sign off. Hope everyone's doing okay!

Monday is over! Woo hoo! The snow is finally melting away, and it wasn't as cold out today. Eh, it'll last a couple days ;) Yesterday we drove down to Arthur to see Mom and Dad. Mom, Rachel and I left the boys at home and went to a stamping class in Arcola. It was fun! I could get into something like that for the relaxation benefits alone. I'd have to get things one at a time though till I was sure I'd stick with it. We had a good time and made some cool cards. After the class we went back to the house, ate supper and watched football. Got to visit with Grandma and Grandpa, Karla and Chandler, and Aunt Judy and Uncle Larry for awhile too which was nice! Next time hopefully we'll have more time to sit and chat!!

Made it home around ten last night and went right to bed. This morning I got up early and Annie and I drove to Danville. Our boss wants us to represent our agency at a school transition meeting on Wednesday so it disrupted our usual day. Got back from D-town around two and had to go to an IFSP meeting at three. This meeting took me forever to schedule due to the hassle of tracking down an interpreter. Went fairly well although the interpreter was late due to getting lost. I have three meetings scheduled tomorrow and a couple on Wednesday. Other than that, not too crazy of a week!

Just gave Tater a bath, she's now curled up on my lap, shaking and making my shirt wet. She had a good time playing with Mom and Dad's dogs yesterday. Always sleeps well when we get home! Well, nothing else exciting happening so I'll sign off. Hope everyone's having a good night!

Lovely Illinois weather!

Snow and wind, snow and wind!!! But, my baby and I are all curled up in the house so its okay! The wind bothered me more so than the snow today. Had to cancel the wedding/bridesmaid dress shopping for today due to the weather. It was really okay with me though, perfect day to stay inside!
I pulled a muscle in my back yesterday but its doing a little better now. I took some muscle relaxers and put "biofreeze" on it and I'm now able to turn my head to the left :) Jeez, to hear me talk you'd think I was eighty! We have some pulled pork roast cooking in Famous Daves BBQ sauce for dinner, been snacking on it all day! Last weekend I made this drink with Bailey's, coffee, whip cream and chocolate syrup....might have to make that again later. Other than that, no plans in place other than resting on the trusty couch!
As long as the weather cooperates we're going down to Arthur to see Mom and Dad tomorrow! I think it'll be fine, the sun came out for about a half an hour before setting and the sky looks clearer. I'm now going to finish catching up on blogs (Bran, I tried to leave a comment on yours and it wouldn't go through but I'll try again pretty soon....probably my prehistoric computer :) and fix a plate for supper. I hope everyone is staying warm and having a good night!

I'm enjoying not being completely under stress this week! Still got a lot of stuff to do all the time, but now that the audit is done I'm able to breathe a little. Nothing much exciting going on. Very happy about good news from Bonnie's Mom!!! So excited for her and the family!!!
I thought it was going to warm up today 'cause it wasn't as cold out this morning, but it's pretty cold out now! Tatum is venturing out into the grass now and even accompanied Roy to the mailbox today! Well, nothing else to write about and I'm too tired and lazy to sit and think of anything else so I'll sign off! Have a good night!

Fun with Ringtones!!!

Well, good or bad, my files are all in Danville for the audit! All 65 of them (and they only pulled TWO to look at). After driving down to drop those off I have done next to nothing the rest of the day. I worked on files for HOURS yesterday and I'm done. I'll get back into the swing of things tomorrow :)

With my free time this afternoon though I began shopping for ringtones. I've often talked about how technologically challenged I am, and had only recently discovered that I can indeed assign different rings to different people. So, the shopping began. I only bought three today, I'll get more next month (they're only 2.50 apiece, but if I didn't stop myself 30 would have been bought!). I picked G&R "Sweet Child of Mine" for my hubby. He has to have a guns and roses song and that was the only one available. For Annie I picked "Pour Some Sugar on Me" cause of our many dancing outings. For Julie and Brian I chose "China Grove"......big inside joke :) I need to pick one for Mom and Dad and my brothers so that'll be my next venture. Wanted more time to think what to chose for them!

I missed being with my family yesterday, but we're going down next Sunday so I have that to look forward to! Jeremy, Rachel and kiddos were in Arthur yesterday. My phone started ringing and it said mom and dad on the caller id. When I answered I could hear people talking, just no one was talking to me. Then they hung up! I called back to investigate, turns out my nephew Matthew was playing with the phone, must have hit the memory button and ended up calling me! Better me than China!

Alrighty, dinner time! Hope everyone survived their Monday!!!!

Saturday night! We're in our jammies relaxing and watching movies. Very cold out, contemplated going out to see a movie, but really don't want to get out in the cold!
Yesterday was upsetting. Some of you may have heard about the mother and son in our area who were electrocuted in their flooded basement (probably trying to fix the pump). I worked with an immediate member of their family in my previous job and knew the two that died. I haven't seen them in almost a year, but previous to that I saw them about once a week. Its just really unbelievable. I heard about it yesterday but it really didn't hit until I watched the news and saw the house. Had a little meltdown then. I'm going to try to get a hold of the family member I worked with soon to make sure she's okay. Very tragic. Please keep the family in your prayers, I can't imagine what they're going through right now.

Didn't feel like doing much yesterday after hearing that news. Today we did our wal-mart run and grabbed a bite for lunch. We came home and watched "Troy" (very good!) and then napped. Just ate some pizza and we're getting ready to watch "Without a Paddle". We really wanted to go visit Mom and Dad today, but Roy hasn't been feeling well so we'll have to do it another weekend. Had to check on them awhile ago to make sure Dad was watching his Steelers! Shawn's birthday is tomorrow, he'll be 17!

Tatum has been acting weird when she goes outside. I feel bad 'cause I know its cold out, but now she's starting to milk it. The other morning I took her out and she went. Then, I was calling her up into the house and she lays down on the step and starts crying! I run outside in my slippers and scoop her up to warm her and she was fine. I'm sure her feet probably get frostbitten even in that short of time and hurt. Today however, the sun was out so she thinks its not cold. She plays around for about 5 minutes, starts to do her pee dance (finding the PERFECT spot!), stops and lays down in the snow and just stares up at me shivering. Crazy girl!

Well, I think we're ready to watch our next movie. I hope everyone is having a good weekend! Have a good night and take care.

What happened to spring???!!!!!

Freakin' ridiculous outside!!! What happened? So nice yesterday, today my dog is peeing on the sidewalk 'cause she doesn't want to go out in the grass! NO ME GUSTA!!!!!!!!!
Anyhoo, not much happening these past couple of days except piles of paperwork. Went out with Jeremy to Shooters the other night, always a good time! Lots and lots of people to make fun of this time around! :) Rest assured, Jeremy and I don't sing. Well, I've never sang, did get him to sing "Amish Paradise" once. He's working on "King Tut" so I'll keep putting the pressure on!
Went to Danville yesterday (Grandma, Annie and I usually get to ride together which is nice. Every now and then we can't 'cause we may have had to schedule a meeting or something). I have to go back again tomorrow, forgot to check my computer when I left and my files didn't download. SO, I have to go again tomorrow BOOO!!!!!!!!! I kind of need to anyway with this file review, but never want to.
Alrighty, need to go dig around to find some supper :) Hope everyone's having a good night!!! Take care!!!

Monday is over! Woo hoo!!!!!!!! I contemplated going to Danville today to pick up some more files to review, but I wasn't feeling so hot this morning.......no Danville for me! I'm already going Wednesday AND Friday, that's more Danville than anyone needs to have :)
Pam and I had heard some crazy tales that they are changing our lunch place, Jerry's, around so we had to go investigate. We love going there because you can get your meal and drink for six bucks (five if you go before 11:30), and it is usually very quick. Well, it is no longer called "Jerry's" as it is now "Goodfellows". Hmm. We have to be SEATED and can't just wander into the bar area to our booth as we're used to. Coming in we saw our regular express cashier wandering around like he was lost. Out of his element without the trusty cash register he diligently guarded. He looked up when he saw us and said "taco salads?" like he always does, but we had to give him a big negative. No more express lunch :( They have the same items on the menu, but you don't get your drink included. The menu is very nice however and the Italian beef sandwich I had was delicious. The prices though, while not unreasonable, are not any different than any other decent restaurant in town. If I'm going to pay that price I'd rather go to Chevy's or Fridays. So, while not entirely disappointed we will now be branching out for our weekly lunch.
Well, back to the paperwork tonight. I got a decent amount done today and I'll get more done tomorrow. Only one appointment so I'll have lots of time to work. Jeremy is coming over and we're going to karoake tomorrow night (haven't been with him FOREVER!). I'm getting less stressed as the week goes by, but I'll feel tons better when this freakin' review is over.
Well, that's my story for today. Nothing else too exciting to write about! Hope everyone survived their Monday's!!! Take care!

Ask me if I did any paperwork!!!!!!!!

No. Couldn't bring myself to get it down. I'm so mad at myself for not getting more done, but I could NOT get motivated to do anything! I did the laundry, cleaned the kitchen, made ham and beans with cornbread for dinner, looked through my new cookbooks from Rachel as well as one my Mom lent me, talked on the phone with Mom and Dad, and anything else I could find to distract me. I'm a LOSER!!!
Anyhoo, I'd better go put the supper stuff away. We're taping 24 tonight, going to tape the entire season and watch it after the finale. Its so intense that we wouldn't be able to wait a week in between episodes, and it takes forever for it to come out of DVD. Think we like tv a little bit? :)
Hope everyone's having a good night! Take care!

Road Trip!

Busy day! I woke up and helped Roy at work. Then, I met Annie and Kelly to drive to Peoria in search of a wedding dress :). I was very impressed with David's Bridal. Annie had set an appointment with a consultant and they were extremely helpful. They took her to a dressing room after we chose a few dresses for her to try on. We had quite the assembly line going! Kelly and I would run and get more dresses in her size, one of us would put back the one she just tried on while the other would unwrap the new one. Meanwhile, the consultant would help her put it on and arrange it. It was fun! Lots of people getting married apparently 'cause the place was packed, but it was very organized in spite.
After we narrowed the dress down to one we wrote down the information and took off. We'll return in a couple weeks with her Mom to make the "final decision" and get it ordered :) We left and went straight to Bob Evan's for some late lunch. I like Bob Evans but hardly ever go for some reason. When I was a kid we went there quite a bit, one time I had a salad and there was GLASS in it! I had forgotten all about that till today, my only scary restaurant story!
Roy and I are spending the night in our comfy clothes watching Seinfield and finishing some West Wing. Nothing planned for tomorrow except paperwork for me and football for Roy! I hope everyone's having a good night and staying warm in this ridiculous weather!

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Friday. I'll be working this weekend thought, gotta get ready for the file review! Going wedding dress shopping with Annie and Kelly tomorrow in Peoria. Excited about that, I never even went wedding dress "shopping" for my own wedding! Aside from that, no plans this weekend....well, except looking over files forever :(
Still icy out. I hate it, but it does look pretty on the trees. I am racking my brian thinking off something to write about and its not happening. So, I'll get back to watching Seinfield! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Danville can eat me

Obviously made a trip to Danville today. It went okay, just long! The roads actually weren't bad at all, just COLD! Annie and I went down a little later than usually, didn't have as much to do, but I needed to get some more files to review before our audit.
Got to talk to Al for awhile tonight, so excited......we actually have tentative plans for a duel visit!!!! Haven't seen that girl in forever and we MUST go out and catch up!
I don't have any appointments tomorrow so aside from a trip to SPICE to print some stuff I'll be doing paperwork for hours on end in my pj's. I haven't found the "comfy" spot yet to work. I hate where my office is because its cramped and its the coldest room in the house. If I work in the living room I'm too tempted to mess on the computer and talk to Roy. The other day I tried spreading my stuff out on our bed so I can still have a tv on for noise but aside from that there are less distractions. However, that can't always work because sometimes Roy has to sleep during the day. Oh well, I'll get a system set one of these days rather than migrating all over the house.
Alrighty, no more exciting news so I'll sign off. Hope everyone's having a good night!

Wednesday, January 05, 2005

Can't write for long tonight, gotta get some more paperwork done. Did NOT go to Danville today. It has been icy out all day and its starting to get worse. Supposed to go tomorrow, we'll see. Poor Tatum was slipping all over the porch when she went out this morning...it was kinda funny though :-)
Talked to Jeremy for awhile, sounds like everything went okay with Maddy's appointment yesterday. We made some soup tonight since its all icy out! Roy also surprised me and brought home some Bailey's so I'm having Bailey's and coffee!
Alright, back to work. Hope everyone's having a good night!

Back to the grind........

Vacation is over, no days off coming up.......eh. Been kinda down today, probably combination of holidays being over, having to go back to work etc. Anyhoo, we had a great time in Tennessee! We got there around 2:00 on Saturday. Roy's Mom and her daughter, his sister Angie with her four kids and husband were already there. We finished getting things set for dinner and then opened presents. Eight kids opening presents was a little hectic, but fun! I got a picture of each of the kids wearing a santa hat helping pass out presents. After we watched them they went downstairs to play and the adults opened presents. I got a cute pair of penguin pj's and slippers, some lotion and candles, and a Christmasy throw for the couch. Roy got the first two seasons of Seinfield on dvd, some sweatpants and a couple of movies. We ate dinner and chatted and later made some pina coladas and mudslide and watched movies.
Sunday, Marsha and Kianne left around noon and Angie and her crew left around five. After everyone left we played air hockey with Julie and Brian's kids for awhile and then retired to the living room to watch movies and stuff. We left around one on Monday and aside from some heavy rain around Effingham we had an uneventful ride home. Drove through Niro's gyros and headed home. The temperature difference was crazy! I'm not sure what it was like up here over the weekend, but it was warm and muggy in Tennessee! Its very rainy and getting icy here tonight. I'm supposed to go to Danville tomorrow but that might get put on hold it the weather keeps up!
I've been catching up on blogs and it sounded like everyone had a good weekend! I have to retire to the couch now so I'll sign off. Night!
