Back yet again! Roy's getting groceries, Peyton is napping and I actually have a quiet house for a minute. Very rare anymore! We haven't been doing much. Survived the tornados this week! God was watching over us because it was headed straight towards us, then changed course at the last minute. We did lose power for about an hour and a half, but luckily there isn't any damage near us. Of course, Roy had to work over that night so I was pacing around the house a nervous wreck, listening to the news and trying not to freak out in front of Peyton! Tornados never used to scare me, but I've seen too many in the last few years!

We've had a laid back weekend. We lazed around the house for awhile yesterday, then went to Julie and Brian's to visit. I made some potato soup so they wouldn't have to get stuck feeding everybody. We got home around nine and watched tv till we fell asleep. And that is way more than I plan on doing today, just staying in my jammies and catching up on laundry!

Peyton had his fifteen month appointment last week. He had two shots, a finger prick blood test, and his urine checked. We already have the results and its fine, thank God, which means the virus didn't damage his kidneys. Dr. Whitby wants to check it again in six months. He also put him on Zyrtec for his allergies. I had mixed feelings about it. I HATE the idea of him taking any type of medicine daily, and his allergies seem a little better than they used to be. But, he still has them and I know they can make him miserable. Some days his eyes are so red and he's practically scratching them trying to rub them. He seems to be doing better on this. It made him a tad hyper for the first couple days, but he pretty much got that out at daycare by the time he got home :)

Speaking of daycare, my son had decided that its great fun to beat up on a couple of the little girls there. So, he has been doing time in "baby jail" (i.e. high chair) quite a bit. The girls are older, but he doesn't care. He doesn't fear the older kids at all. Other than abusing older women, he's been doing great! He's starting to sleep a little better and seems to be handling the teething better too. Yet another one is coming in, but it doesn't seem to bother him that much.

Well, better go get some cleaning done before my boys invade the living room again! Hope everyone's having a great weekend! Take care and God bless!

Two in a row!

We didn't do too much today. Just stayed inside and took it easy :) Ashamed to say however, that even though we were home all day, we still have yet to take down the Christmas decorations! Its just hard to do with Peyton up, and now that he's down I just don't wanna :) I'll work on it tomorrow!
Made some fried potatoes and philly cheesesteaks for supper. The potatoes turned out alright even though I used a little too much oil. Peyton's appetite is back in full force and I'm amazed how much that little belly can hold. I didn't want him to eat all that grease, so I made him one of his toddler chicken stew dinners. He doesn't like it when we eat something different from him, he keeps peering over his high chair at our plates to see what we've got :)
Well, not much else to write about so I'm going to go clean the kitchen and finish watching American Gladiators. Hope everyone's having a great weekend! Take care and God bless!

Been awhile!

Back again! Guess a post every four months is better than none right? ;)
We're slowly getting back to normal from the holidays. Its been crazy! Right after Christmas Peyton came down with a rare virus that caused huge red blotches all over his legs and feet. It also causes kind of an arthritus for babies, so he was in so much pain he couldn't walk for most of the day. I've never been so scared or prayed so hard. But, the Lord is good, he started walking 20 minutes after Mom put him on the prayer chain! The marks are almost gone, the few left have faded into light bruises. There is a chance of kidney and intestinal damage associated with it, but so far we haven't seen anything to indicate that he has that. The doctor hasn't seen anything like it in 12 years. He was so concerned that he called personally to check on him. I took him back in Thurs. and the doctor was amazed at his recovery. He'll have to have his urine checked at his fifteen month appointment next month, but other than that he doesn't need anymore follow up! Now that he's over the virus, he's cutting at least four teeth at once! Poor guy can't catch a break :)
We had a wonderful time over the holidays! We spent Christmas in Arthur with my family and had a great time! We celebrated with Roy's family here the weekend after, and New Year's eve we were so exhausted we shut ourselves in at home! Peyton, in spite of everything, has still been learning new things everyday and is constantly cracking us up! He's starting to hide toys, pacifiers and bottles all over the house and keeps coming up with crazy new dances. I finally got some new pictures sent out tonight and we're going to try to have some done somewhere soon. Well, I'm going to try to make it through a whole movie without falling asleep! Take care everyone and God bless!

That's right, pregnant AGAIN!

Oh yeah! As I'm sure everyone has heard by now we are currently expecting a surprise baby #2! Many days of up and down emotions (mostly terrified and more terrified), but the bottom line is that God does not create people for no reason, and even though this is not on my planned timetable it is a blessing nontheless! So, I am once again starting the regime of doctor's appointments, picking out names, rearranging the house and preparing my baby son to be a big brother! I have my first doctor's appointment next Monday so we'll get some idea of a due date. I tracked it on babycenter and they estimate it as May 15.
Peyton is already starting to somewhat jump off the spoiled train :) We have been working hard with our bedtime routine and he is finally starting to sleep in his own crib for more than 20 minutes at a time. Well, he's also now going through a growth spurt so he wants to eat CONSTANTLY! Last night he ate a full bottle at one in the morning, and another one at 4:30. I tried giving him some cereal before bed tonight so we'll see if he does better, because he had been out of the habit of eating through the night. Even though I was exhausted, he was so cute this morning. He was sitting up in bed clapping and smiling and ready to play....which I would have done if it hadn't been before five :)
Well, that's about all we've been doing these past few days! My SIL Angie took Peyton overnight on Saturday and I slept and slept some more! We have no plans for the rest of the week except work and some extreme laziness this weekend! I'm gonna sign off now and watch some tv! Hope everyone is having a great week! Take care and God bless!

Not much else new to write about since I'm actually getting out two blogs this week......so I'll be sharing my list of Tennessee sayings that annoy me!

1. "Buggy" instead of "shopping cart"
After growing up in Arthur, home to many Amish families, imagine my confusion when first moving here! Upon arriving at Wal-mart I am asked if I need a buggy. Hmm....I'm wearing pants and make-up so I'm thinking I don't need the horse-drawn transportation. But they mean a "cart". Still confuses me

2. "whaddya lack" instead of "what else do you need"
With the accent it actually sounds like "what do you like". Well, I like lots of things! Led to some very confusing conversations.

3. "i'm fixin' to" instead of "i'm getting ready to"
This I hear several times daily....this phrase isn't actually that bad, just the extreme overuse of it sends me over the edge. "It's fixin' to rain", "I'm fixin' to leave", "He's fixin' to have a fit". The only time I feel the word "fixin" is appropriate is when it is followed by the word "dinner".

4. "a coon's age" instead of "a long time"
Don't ask, I don't even know what to do with that one.

...and finally, my favorite.......

5. "look at tv" instead of "watch tv"
Congrats, you've just made watching tv sound even more sedentary. At least using the word "watching" makes the experience sound somewhat interactive.

That's it! Peyton is sleeping very well in his own bed so I'm fixin' to go look at some tv. Hope you are all having a great night! Take care and God bless!

We got sent home from work today 'cause a machine broke down so I actually have a chance to blog! Peyton is still at daycare, I went to the doctor to finally take care of this sinus nonesense so I'll be picking him up soon. He is back at his original daycare, the other lady couldn't handle him anymore. Financially, it SUCKS for us to have him back in a center, but he's so much happier and its a better environment for him. Melinda, the director, loves him to pieces and can put up with him through this needy, teething stage. And he loves her to death. He's getting ANOTHER tooth so he's been a little crabby at night. During the day however he is a little inspector gadget, he even discovered how to flush the toilet yesterday! Lord help us!

We had a great weekend in St. Louis! We spent friday at the zoo, saturday at six flags, and both evenings down at Laclede's landing. It was a very nice break. I missed my little guy terribly, but I know he had fun at Mom and Dad's. Thank you both again so much for watching him!!!

Well, I'm gonna go pick up the house a little before I go pick my man up! Hope everyone is having a great Monday! Take care and God bless!

Three teeth!

My baby boy has a third tooth coming in! He's doing pretty well, just a little more clingy than usual. We had a great weekend. Mom and Dad came down to visit on Friday night and we had a wonderful time with them. Peyton had fun showing off for them as well! Mom bought him a hokie pokie elmo when we went shopping on Saturday. He was a little scared of it at first, but now he starts dancing when I start him up! He also tried to imitate Dad laughing. We had a great time and were sad to see them go on Sunday.

Our week is going pretty much as usual. Hot, hot and hotter. We are anxiously awaiting our St. Louis trip next weekend! Mom and Dad are wonderful and will be watching Peyton for us. Of course, this week seems that much longer since we have a short one coming up. Well, its about bedtime so I'm gonna hit it. Hope everyone is having a great night! Take care and God bless!
